The Grumman F8F Bearcat is cursed in 1/48 scale. For many years I watched from the sidelines on places like rec.models.scale as people lamented the lack of a decent rendition of this aircraft and debated the merits of various correction parts available for the Hawk and Hobbycraft kits, mostly related (as far as I could tell) to issues with the shape of the cowling.
Review This offering from Hobby Boss of a 1/18th scale Messerschmitt Bf109E, is supplied in a substantial cardboard box that should protect it and the individually packaged sprues further help. A quick look at the mouldings of what is listed as a new moulding, reminds me very much of the aircraft offerings from another company with kits
